Flat Substrate Business Signage

Signwriting’s Bread and Butter.

“Traditional” signage is here to stay.”DiBond” or ACP is often the perfect solution for your business. Hard wearing, Recoverable, reusable and lightweight. ACP Panels are a great combination of durability and affordability. Depending on their installed location and if installed by our expert team, they can carry up to a 5 year installer warranty* Matched with the highest grade vinyl’s from our recommended brands, they will retain their bold colours and High Gloss finish until its time for a refresh.

ACP Panels are perfect for large scale, cost effective installations. See this example at MKM in Glasgow if you are ever passing. A single solid board at 3x2m, affixed directly to the building with colour matched rivets.
Hp Latex technology allows for vibrant colours throughout printed Vinyl, being able to match traditional coloured vinyl’s for vibrancy and durability. Add in a stunning High Gloss or Matt laminate (In picture) and you’re sorted.
ACP Panels can be affixed to almost any flat surface, making them perfect for cladded business premises. Often Cladded buildings will require additional support and strengthening measures for Tray Signage or Flexface Units, ACP offers the same scale with considerably less weight.
Large Scale Tray signs create a brilliant sense of depth at a large scale. See this example at UHI Perth if you are ever passing. A single solid aluminium tray at 3×1.5m, affixed to the brickwork with a matching rear tray insert.
Aluminium Trays can be either powder-coated/painted before installation or they can be wrapped in Full colour with a Matt Laminate, as UHI’s Installation is.
Tray signage is adaptable and durable. Trays can be affixed to almost any type of building, albeit with the correct structure and support to support the additional weight that the solid aluminium Trays carry.

Tray Signage

A more stylish and fashionable looking 3-dimensional sign that protrudes slightly from the building facia. With options of full colour printed graphics, standard vinyl cut lettering or powder coated solid colours. Take your brand to the forefront of your business Premises. Installing this type of sign allows fixings to be hidden, giving your sign a sleek, uninterrupted finish. These signs are also perfect for uneven surfaces giving a flush, straight cut finish which is much more pleasing to the eye, especially on rough building facias.

Tray signage is also a brilliant base for adding lighting to your building front. Either downlit, push-through or fret-cut lettering can be illuminated and bring another level of visibility to your business.

Flex-Face Signage

“FlexFace” is by no means the new kid on the block. But material cost reductions mean that it is now more available to the regular business owner, whereas before costs limited it to typically retail park signage. FlexFace’s specialty is large scale, normal solid substrate or tray signage can rarely exceed 4-5 meters without needing joins, FlexFace can get 2 or 3 times that quite easily in a single piece. FlexFace is also brilliant for backlighting. Its beautiful full colour prints can be back lit from edge to edge, eliminating any dark-spots and without any need for bulky support material, there’s also no shadow cast within the box. Meaning your signage stays brighter and more visible.

Flexface signage allows for scale unlike anything else, This installation at MKM Glasgow sits at 5000x2400mm and fully backlit.
Using the latest LED technology, FlexFace allows for massive energy savings over comparable “Old-School” systems. MKM Glasgow’s previous fluorescent tube lighting ran at a combined 8kw across the 4 identical signs placed on the building. This new LED system comes in shy of 1kw combined yet produces a brighter light instantly and with much less need for regular maintenance.

Inspiration Lies Within…

FlexFace, Tray and Flat Substrate signage.

Now for the nerdy stuff.

Why Tray Signs?

  1. Material: Sign trays are often constructed from durable materials such as aluminum or composite materials. These materials provide stability, weather resistance, and longevity.
  2. Face Material: The face of the sign tray is usually made from a flat, rigid material, such as aluminum composite panels or acrylic. This face can be printed with graphics, text, or the business logo, offering a visually appealing display.
  3. Illumination: Sign trays can be illuminated to enhance visibility, especially during low-light conditions or at night. This is commonly achieved using LED lighting embedded within the tray structure, creating a backlit effect.
  4. Weather Resistance: The materials used in sign trays are chosen for their ability to withstand outdoor elements, ensuring the sign remains durable and retains its appearance over time.
  5. Mounting Options: Sign trays can be mounted directly to a building facade or wall. They may also be suspended or mounted on poles, offering flexibility in installation and visibility.

Why FlexFace?

  1. Flexible Material: The face of the sign is made from a flexible material that can be easily stretched and mounted onto a frame. This flexibility allows for unique shapes and designs.
  2. Illumination: FlexFace signs are often designed to be illuminated from behind, creating a vibrant and attention-grabbing display, especially at night. This is commonly achieved using LED lights.
  3. Weather Resistance: The materials used in FlexFace signage are typically weather-resistant, making them suitable for outdoor use. This includes resistance to rain, wind, and sunlight, ensuring the longevity of the signage.
  4. Durability: The combination of a sturdy frame and a durable, flexible face material contributes to the overall durability of FlexFace signage. This makes it a reliable option for long-term outdoor advertising.
  5. Cost-Effective: Compared to some other types of large-format signage, FlexFace signage can be a cost-effective option, particularly for its size and impact.
